CAS and heavy works

Due to some heavy works and test's i couldn't meet one of my CAS goals, which is to meet up my service hours by attending regular recycling classes and music classes.Anyway i will try to reocver from this by not missing any more recycling and music classes.

CAS Goals for grade 12

This year, i will try to be more active in my Creativity, Action and Service programmes.And to be so, i am setting up few goals, which i will try to follow throughout this year:
These golas will also be reflecting back to the CAS criteria:
1) First of all, i will try to meet up my service hours by attending regular recycling classes with full dedication.Because by doing it with dedication will help me to develop skills and abilities. I will be even more aware of this globally important issue.
2) Secondly,i won't miss any music classes because i will be a giving performances( outside the school). And by doing this i will undertake challeges which will help me to be a good singer in the futue.
3) As, i am doing cricket as my action, i will try to kepp my body fit( Considering the ethical implication of my action) because they i can hopefully play some local matches.
So, basically if i follow these above goals throughout this semester, i know i will gain skills inorder to work collaboratively with others.

Final reflection

Throughout this year i kept myself little tight in my Creativity, in my Action and in my Service.And i almost fulfilled all my aims set back in early entries. Such as for my Creativity, i am regularly attending all my music classes without being lazy and for my action i am playing cricket after school. And for service i am spending 2 hours doing recycling with Mr. Lockwood on every thursdays after school.
So,next year also i wanted the same situation going on with me without any disturbance.

Creativity, Action and Service

For my service, i am not at all worried because i nver skipped any recyling class so far. So okay with that. And also for the creativity i.e music, so far i didn't even a single class. So okay with that too. But my only worry is regarding my action because i couldn't able to play cricket for more than 1 month. SO i think i need to start organizing that in this suumer break.

Following Creativity Goals:)

So, from the last week onwards i started following my goals for creativity, which was to:
1) ) My first goal will be on to  practise every single note, given by the teacher to me.
2)  Second goal is to attend every single music class.
3) Third is to participate in any music competitions.
And i am very happy to say that i followed my first and my second goal, Now i am aiming at my third goal, which i am sure i can achieve.

Food & Fun& Fair of 2011

Like usual, the food and fun fair was really thrilling.This year our grade did the goalie shootout. And honestly,that's the only sport where people enjoyed the most.We all did our job pefeccly. There were many different stalls of food of different countries. I ate many food from the indian stall and i think indian stall was the best.  I think it's becaus i am used with the taste of indian food.

As i mentioned before, my creativity is music and here are some of the goals for my creativity:
1) My first goal will be on to  practise every single note, given by the teacher to me.
2)  Second goal is to attend every single music class.
3) Third is to participate in any music competitions.
So the above are all my goals, which i am aiming at.

Recycling again!!!!!!!!!!!!

I am on the way to do Recycling this semester.
Some of my goals for Recycling this semester are:
a) Try to get used papers, plastic and cardboards from every single class.
b) I will try my best attend every single recycling meetings.
c) To provide the recycling boxes to those classes who don't have one.
d) To make a poster saying " its time to recycle guys", i will post that every where in the school with the permission of Mr.Lockood(head of recycling).

The only reason why i decided to do recycling again is to help this world by reducing the waste produced by the plastics,cardboards and papers.

These are the 8 Criteria that the IB stipulates

8 Critical learning Outcomes

A new challenge may be an unfamiliar activity, or an extension to an existing one.

Ethical decissions arise in almost any CAS activity ( fro example, on the sports ffield, in musical compositions, in realatioonships with others involved in service activities). Evidence of thinking about ethical issues can be shown in various ways, including journal entries and conversation with CAS advisers
8) Developed new skills
As with new challenges, new skills may be shown in activities that the students has not previously undertaken, or in increased expertise in an established area.

Weak Without Walls Goals!!!!!!!!!!

This is the 3rd time i am going for the Weak Without Walls.Last year we went to Udayawalawe and did some activities with borderlands and also spent some CAS hours in painting the school.Bu this year 2011 we went to another interesting place " Hambantota" . Bu this time no borderlands!!!:) Instead we are focusing on filing out our CAS hours.
This time My goals for Weak Without Wall are as follows:
1) To socialize with everyone especially teachers.
2) I will try to follow every single rule and regulation given my the teachers.
3)To have fun but i will be very careful regarding the safety.
So, these were mainly my goals for the Weak Without Walls and i am happy that i followed these rules some way or the other way.!!!

My CAS goals!!!!!!!

1) To take cricket very serious and also to start playing on every Saturday and Sunday at cricket ground.
2) I will try my best, not to miss any service i.e recycling hours because i am very keen to help this environment through recycling.
3) To learn Cassio(Keyboard) advanced level because right now i  am only a beginner. I will do that my attending the keyboard classes regularly.

About my action

I know playing cricket reguarly make my body fit and also i can develop a sport's man spirit.From my childhood onwards i am having a sepcial interest towards cricket.I am a medium fast and right handed batsman. Being a all rounder i played many matches and also won many trophies
This year , one of my main goal is to join the cricket academy of SSC because one of my other goal is to play for my state in IPL if possible.Short note on cricket Many variations exist, with its most popular form played on an oval-shaped outdoor arena known as a cricket field at the centre of which is a rectangular 22-yard (20.12 m) long pitch that is the focus of the game. A game (or match) is contested between two teams of eleven players each. One team bats, and will try to score as many runs as possible while the other team bowls and fields, trying to dismiss the batsmen and thus limit the runs scored by the batting team. A run is scored by the striking batsman hitting the ball with his bat, running to the opposite end of the pitch and touching the crease there without being dismissed. My recycling at OSC

From my 9th grade onwards i am doing recycling,so basically it is my 2nd year in OSC doing recycling. The main thing  which provoked me to do recycling is that of having a awarness of global warming.And i know humans play a main role in that my polluting the water with chemicals and plastics, cutting trees, which i think the amin reason of climatic change which really affects the global warming. But i am doing recycling for saving the palnet not to harm them.Recycling involves processing used waste into new products to prevent waste of potentially useful materials, reduce the consumption of fresh raw materials, reduce energy usage, reduce air pollution and water pollution by reducing the need for "conventional" waste disposal, and lower greenhouse gas emissions as compared to virgin production. So, basically Recycling really connects with the environmenat i.e. If we do recycle stuufs we can save energy adn hence save the environment otherwise it will be a hard time for us to do to help this Ecosystem. I am doing recycling because of 2 main reasons 1) to save energy 2) for my CAS(Creativity Action Service). Mr. Lockwood is our recycling head and he commands us to take all the unwanted paers and paltics bottles to recycle. And we do this for every single class. Afer collecting all these materials we just dumb them into our recycling room and when the truck comes we again collect all those materials and put it into the truck the truck then goes to a place where all these materials are recyled.

About me

Hello, so i am Ananthu owner of this blog and a student of Overseas School Of  Colombo. I am studying in 11th grade and i doing sevaral at OSC which includes playing Cricket, doing Recycling .And for my CAS(Creativity Action Service) requirement only i am doing it.Recycling is my service, which i will be doing on every thursdays, after school.Cricket is my action, which i am planning to learn outside the school.  One of the main reason behind creating this bolg is to express my ideas and goals throughout this year.So,first of all i would like to tell you my goals:
a) To improve on my cricket skills by joining a Cricket accademy.
b) To work and focus on Recycling(Community and service)
So,basically these are my goals which i need to achieve as i go.
